Castor oil derivatives are a versatile group of chemicals obtained from the modification of castor oil; a natural, renewable triglyceride primarily composed of Ricinoleic acid.
These derivatives are widely used across industries due to their unique properties such as high lubricity, thermal stability, emulsifying ability, and biodegradability.
These are used various applications for Personal Care Formulations, Household Formulations and Industrial Formulations.
SSPL offers Ricinoleic Acid and Hydrogenated Castor Oil.

Ricinoleic Acid

Castor oil fatty acid with superior emulsification, emolliency, lubrication and dispersion, used in personal care products. Because of its unique structure it is compatible with both polar and nonpolar ingredients. Surfocast-RCA also possess antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. Hence, it is used in face washes, skincare and personal care products. Its derivatives are also used in a range of products ranging from deodorants and antiperspirants to color cosmetics.

Hydrogenated Castor Oil
- INCI Name: Hydrogenated Castor Oil
  CAS No: 8001-78-3
Hydrogenated castor oil known for its occlusive properties. Wax like solid that is brittle, hard, odourless and very high melting, available as flakes or powder. It is known to hydrate skin and hair and as such finds applications in cosmetics and soaps not only for its moisturising effect but also its viscosity modulating and binding properties. Extremely safe and non-toxic.
It also has wide industrial use as a lubricant and processing aid.
