Non-Ionic Surfactants

  • Non-ionic surfactants do not carry any charge on their hydrophilic head group, which consists typically of polyoxyethylene or sugar-based groups.
  • These are commonly used in Emulsifiers, Wetting agents, and as Stabilizers for Cosmetics, Food, and Industrial applications.
  • Non-ionic surfactants exhibit low foaming, stability in hard water, and less sensitivity to changes in pH and electrolytes.
  • SSPL offers Sorbitan Esters /Amide Esters /Alkyl Polyglucosides
  • Sorbitan esters

    • Sorbitan Esters are non-ionic surfactants derived from natural ingredients - sorbitol and fatty acids.
    • They are widely used as emulsifiers, stabilizers, and dispersants in a variety of industries due to their excellent compatibility, functionality, mildness and biodegradability.
    • Sorbitan esters find usages in Personal Care Products, Food industry, Pharmaceuticals, Industrial applications.
    • SSPL offers Sorbitan Mono Oleate, Sorbitan Mono Laurate, Sorbitan Mono Stearate

    Sorbitan monooleate
    SURFOSORB-SO

    • INCI Name: Sorbitan Oleate
    • CAS number: 1338-43-8
    • Ester of sorbitol with oleic acid used in the formulation of cosmetics and personal care products for its properties of solubilisation, dispersion, stabilisation, wetting and viscosity modification.
    • Due to its lipophilicity, it is often employed as an w/o emulsifier, particularly for unsaturated lipid components such as oleyl alcohol or vegetable oils.
    • 100% biodegradable because of its natural origin
    • It is used as a dispersing agent for pigments in colour cosmetics and zinc oxide/titanium dioxide in sun care products.

    Sorbitan monostearate

    INCI name: Sorbitan Stearate
    CAS number: 1338-41-6

Ester of sorbitol with stearic acid used in the formulation of cosmetics and personal care products for its properties of solubilisation, and dispersion.
Due to its lipophilicity, it is often employed as an w/o emulsifier or as a co-emulsifier.

It especially improves the texture of skincare and cosmetic preparations.

100% biodegradable because of its natural origin.

    SSPL

  • Amide esters

    • Amide Esters, such as Coconut Monoethanolamide (CMEA) and Coconut Diethanolamide (CDEA), are non-ionic surfactants derived from fatty acids and ethanol amines.
    • They are widely valued for their foam-enhancing, thickening, and stabilizing properties in personal care and cleaning formulations.
    • They enhance product texture and user experience with rich foam and improved viscosity.
    • They are compatible with other surfactants like anionics, making them versatile in formulations.
    • They provide a cost-effective solution for boosting performance in cleaning and personal care products.
    • Amide esters find usages in Personal Care Formulations, Household Formulations, Industrial formulations, Textiles and Leather processing.
    • SSPL offers Coconut Monoethanolamide, Coconut Diethanolamide

  • Alkyl polyglucosides

    • Alkyl Polyglucosides (APGs) are non-ionic surfactants derived from renewable resources such as fatty alcohols (from coconut or palm oil) and glucose (from corn or starch).
    • APGs are known for their excellent compatibility, biodegradability, and mildness, making them ideal for eco-friendly formulations in Personal care, Household, and Industrial Applications.
    • They are the safe ingredients of choice for replacing the anionic Sulfates in creation of sulfate free formulations
    • They can be derivatised to obtain functionality and hence property of choice.
    • They are frequently employed for rheology modifications and shear thinning.
    • Compatible with other surfactant classes and are used as such for their interfacial tension reducing and high dispersing properties.
    • SSPL offers Decyl Polyglucoside and Decyl-Lauryl Polyglucoside.
