Secondary Surfactants

Secondary surfactants are supporting surfactants used in combination with primary surfactants to enhance the overall performance of formulations.
The secondary surfactants improve specific attributes such as foam stability, mildness, viscosity, and sensory feel.
These are used in various applications such as Personal Care, Home Care, Industrial Applications and Decorative formulations.
SSPL offers amide esters such as Coco monoethanolamide and Coco Diethanolamide and anionics such as sodium octyl sulfate.

- Excellent foam booster, commonly used alongwith anionics
- Viscosity building and foam stabilising
- Also aid in control of the dissolution rate of formulations in various product forms
- Used in shampoos, hand washes and hair care products

Coco Monoethanolamide
- CAS No: 68140-00-1
- INCI Name: Cocamide MEA
- Coco monoethanolamide is an amide of monoethanolamine and coconut oil fatty acids.
- It functions as a foam booster, giving richer and denser foam.
- It is also a viscosity increasing agent frequently used to thicken the aqueous phase of formulations and emulsify the blended ingredients
- Usedthroughout the range of hair products and skin care preparations.
- Also used in hard surface cleaners

Special anionics

Sodium Octyl Sulfates
- CAS No: 142-31-4
- It is used as a wetting and air entraining agent
- Low viscosity with moderate foaming properties
Hydrotropic
- Stable in high salt as well as alkali concentration
- Used in textiles and firefighting foams due to the unique foam structure it creates especially in hard water; creates foam with a higher degree of hydration
